FAQs
Can I add my own criteria template?
You can't save a custom template to the template library, but you can build a fully custom framework from scratch. Create your own criteria in Criteria settings, or start from an existing template and modify it — add, edit, or delete any criteria after applying it.
Why might a criterion not appear in Evaluation?
The most common reason is that you're not assigned as an Estimator for that criterion — only assigned Estimators see a criterion during evaluation. Open Criteria settings and add yourself (or the relevant team member) as an Estimator for that criterion. If the criterion still doesn't appear, check that it isn't set to Ignore or Unlinked from the board.
Can I use criteria from one board on another board?
Yes. Duplicate a criterion and copy it to another board — the copy inherits all configuration from the original. Alternatively, use Global Criteria Management to merge identical criteria across boards into a single global criterion. Once merged, scoring an issue on one board automatically applies that score to the same issue on all boards sharing that criterion.
We'd like to split Effort by role. Is this supported?
There's no built-in role-based Effort splitting, but you can replicate this workflow with multiple Effort criteria. Create separate criteria — Frontend Effort, Backend Effort, and Design Effort — each typed as Effort, and assign the relevant team members as Estimators for each. The Total Score formula then combines all Effort criteria automatically when calculating priority rankings.
How do I get my RICE score calculated?
RICE scores are calculated automatically — no manual calculation needed. Set up your board with Reach, Impact, Confidence, and Effort criteria, then select Product Value ÷ Product Effort as your Total Score formula. As your team evaluates issues, the RICE score appears and updates in real time on the Backlog page.
See the RICE framework guide for the correct criteria and weights.
Can I change the prioritization method if needed?
Yes, you can switch methods at any time. Apply a new framework template to replace or add to your current criteria, or manually adjust criteria in Criteria settings. You can also update the Total Score formula independently — the change applies immediately to your backlog rankings.
