Evaluate backlog

This guide helps invited Admins and Members get started with scoring backlog Issues.

If your teammates invited you and you're not sure where to start, this guide walks you through the basics.

Access prioritization Boards

From the Dashboard, select the Board you were invited to. You can be added to as many Boards as needed. Filter them using the quick filter My estimations.

View the list of Issues

In the Board, under Backlog, you'll see a list of Issues added by your teammates. The Issues may have been manually created in Ducalis, or imported from your corporate task tracker.

If other Members in the Board have already evaluated the Issues, they'll be sorted by priority order. The total score of each Issue appears on the far right.

The top priority Issues are the starred ones.

Click on an Issue to get a detailed description.

Evaluate Issues

To start evaluating Issues for prioritization, select the Evaluation tab.

Evaluate Issues using the Criteria set by your Admin. For example, consider how relevant an Issue is and how important it is.

Use the Criteria description as a guide and put a score in the cell under each Criterion.

Ask a question

While evaluating, you can ask a question about an Issue or a Criterion that you want clarification on. For example, if you don't understand a task:

  1. Click the question icon.
  2. Choose a user and type your question to a teammate.

The person you direct the question to will be instantly notified.

If there are any Questions asked, or discussions held in the Board, you can view them under Questions.

You can join a discussion if you have a similar question.

Skip Issue scoring

You can skip evaluating an Issue if you don't understand it or don't have enough information about it.

Click the skip icon. The Issue will be moved to the Scores tab.

Change Issue scores

Go to Evaluation → Scores to see the tasks you evaluated, and re-evaluate if needed.

What's next

Ducalis prioritization is a continuous cycle. To stay on track, set up notifications to get reminders to evaluate tasks, alerts on new Questions, and updates on what's happening in the Board.
