Step 4. Voter identification
Pass voter data automatically through the feedback widget to identify users who submit feedback. Authentication removes the need for email fields in the widget and enables better customer targeting.
Passing voter attributes can significantly enhance your ability to target specific user groups, provide personalized experiences, and segment feedback. While optional, we strongly recommend using voter identification to get the most value from Ducalis.
Voter authentication
Use these parameters to authenticate voters:
- email (required): Ties received feedback to a specific user account.
- userId (optional): When passed, the user counts as "logged in" for targeting purposes.
- name (optional): User's name from your product. Displays as the voter and Idea author. Visible only to your Ducalis team inside your Board.
- avatar (optional): User's avatar from your product. Displays in your Board when evaluating feedback. Shows who voted and what they voted for.
- company (optional): Organization name for grouped accounts. Recommended for viewing Voting Board requests grouped by organization.
See how to authenticate your customers in Single sign-on for Voting Boards.
Custom parameters
Add custom context data for each Voter to capture additional information like revenue, ARR, or market segment. Feedback patterns often differ based on company size, market, or customer maturity.
Use custom parameters in Ducalis to segment and analyze user feedback patterns more deeply.
