If you have product-feedback channels in your Mattermost account, you can turn the feedback into public ideas for your Voting board. Ducalis’ integration with Mattermost allows you to create a public idea from a Mattermost channel.
Enable Integration
1. Go to All Voting boards > Capture Ideas > Create Ideas From Mattermost Bot.
2. Click to ‘enable Mattermost Integration’.
3. Turn on the tumbler.
4. Click Connect Mattermost Server and follow the instructions in Ducalis or here.
5. After your Integration is ready return to All Voting boards and follow the instructions.
6. To create ideas from Mattermost you have to set up slash commands.
Main Menu (Upper Left Corner) > Integrations > Slash Commands > Add Slash Commands.
7. Fill in the fields:
- Set Title to Create Idea
- Set Description to Create Idea from messages
- Set Command Trigger Word to create_idea
- Set Request URL to ‘find the url below’ in Ducalis account.
- Set Request Method to POST
- Set Autocomplete to Enabled
- Set Autocomplete Description to Create Idea in Ducalis.io
- Click Save
- Copy Token
8. Click Add Token in Ducalis.
9. Select Team and paste the token. Click Save.
TIP: If no team is selected, add the created bot to the desired team and then to the relevant channels.
Now you can create ideas.
Creating Ideas
- Go to your Mattermost channel and start typing the command you’ve setup earlier.
- Choose the message you want to create an idea from.
- Choose an organization when creating an idea, if you have multiple organizations.
- Choose the board you want to create an idea in.
- Then click Create. Idea is ready.
- Follow the idea link to the Ducalis board. You’ll need to give the idea a title, edit it if needed, and then publish it.
